Different Kind of Leader

Sun enters Libra on September 23, 2022, at 2:04 a.m. GMT. At this time, the Sun has arrived at the Fall Equinox, the critical moment on Sun´s journey - further descent into the darkness.  

Libra is the autumnal, masculine domicile of Venus. Here the Goddess welcomes Saturn in her airy temple where he receives the highest honors.

Traditionally, Sun represents the King, in our day and age, it is the archetype of a leader. Sun is in fall in the sign of Libra. The concept of dignities is often misinterpreted and it is rather shortsighted to dismiss „fall“ as inherently negative.

Sun is „fallen“ in Libra. Does this mean that Sun in Libra native is a bad, failing leader? No, he is just a different kind of leader. He needs to work with particular resources, resources provided by Venus and Saturn.

When we look at the signs of Sun´s domicile and exaltation where the archetype of a leader is at home, we would probably think that qualities like confidence, ambition, drive, passion, charisma are necessary for a person in the leadership role. But if the leader lacks good judgement he might easily end up down the wrong path even though initially he might appear as a lot more promising than the leader that takes a careful, considerate approach.

Libran leader will orientate himself towards others as Libra is a Venus sign and Venus is all about making connections and tending relationships.

Libras are often good listeners and readers, they collect information from their environment and are able to see patterns that others might overlook. They also possess a breadth of experiences and relationships they can rely on. If they lack knowledge in any particular field, they know who to get in touch with. 

A good leader does not need to be surrounded by people who validate him and just blindly follow his orders. Libras are seeking diversity. They want to hear all sides and especially those who have different opinions as they can provide critical information and point out an issue that needs to be addressed. Abraham Lincoln assembled a cabinet of experts he respected but who didn’t always agree with one another. 

Many leaders rush to make decisions. Good judgment requires that we take time to turn knowledge into understanding. Although a passionate approach to values and objectives can inspire others, it can also affect how we process information and learn from our experience.

Libra is a masculine and airy sign. Librans have the natural ability to detach, both intellectually and emotionally, which is a vital element of good judgment. 

This detachment allows them to see beyond the limited options and seek creative solutions, they are considering the big picture. They will not rush into action just because there is pressure applied and it seems „there is no other option“.

Other options almost always exist, such as doing nothing or delaying a decision until more information is available.

You might not even notice Libran's leadership. They are often quite charming and accommodating. They give you the attention and make you feel good. Librans might seem „soft“ compared to other leaders but don´t be fooled by the external image. Libra is the sign of Saturn´s exaltation, it is not always what it seems.

Librans are inclined to smooth out wrinkles - make things agreeable, fair and look nice. Imagine what goes on when you´re ironing a wrinkled piece of clothing and you get an idea of what might go unseen while you're noticing the external perfection of Libran image.
