Still Waters Run Deep
A few hours ago, on October 23, 2022, Venus entered the sign of Scorpio. She is far away from home, in exile, in an unknown territory. Her body is tense, her heart is racing. It feels like there is something lurking in the darkness.
Yesterday she was enjoying a haven of peace, being cherished and protected in the arms of the King, feeling powerful and very special. Now she finds herself in this dark, unfamiliar, hostile swampland.d.
She feels fragile and weak, deprived of any influence and strength.
She suddenly lost her fortune. She lost her footing. Now she has to carefully watch her every step so that she does not get trapped in this water-logged terrain. This is where all the mud tends to settle.
Wetlands seem like dangerous, murky places that people kept drying out over the centuries thinking they are of no use. Later on, they had to face the destructive consequences of those actions.
Wetlands are essential for removing pollutants from our watershed, they protect our precious soil from erosion and they are serving as reservoirs for the watershed. Wetlands are a place of healing. They are a low-energy environment…
Scorpionic space is an environment to lay low, to rest in the silence of the darkness, to breathe, to explore uncomfortable spaces.
With the south node solar eclipse in Scorpio right on Venus that is coming on October 25, we will be asked to explore these spaces with great intensity and to make a sacrifice, to make tough choices based on what's most precious for us.
Since ancient times, bloodletting has been a first-line treatment for various conditions. A vein would be opened with a sharp tool and the blood would be let to flow out. If you got lucky, leeches might perform this gruesome task.
In pre-Columbian Mesoamerica, Maya priests and rulers pierced their soft body parts offering their blood in sacrifice to their gods.
Like our ancestors, we will have to let some life go, let things flow freely out of us. Things that seemed immovable and secure in our life. And it will hurt. We might feel that it is time to change things that we were stubborn about for a long time. We might realize that these “immovable objects” aren’t our anchor, as we thought, but that they keep us stuck, that by holding on to them we are closing ourselves off from so many real and present opportunities.
It is time to give it a try, to change what never seemed like an option even if we're frightened inside.
By letting things go, we're becoming less rigid, we're making room for healing, allowing energies to find their right balance.
Don’t be afraid of dark, still waters, immerse your body in a moist healing mud, rest and stay open to whatever comes your way…
Keep hope alive, keep dreaming.
