Let a New Story Be Born

Image
I often feel like dancing between the worlds though sometimes it might just look like limping to the external world. My dance form has loosened up quite a lot since my younger years when dancing often had a rather performative quality. I tend to dance more for myself now. This week, at the dance training with my women, our “leading woman” made an announcement about the new choreography for next year: “….each of you should have a solo performance dancing your own personal story…” Thinking about this new seeding moment, I was thinking how perfect it is for the New Moon in Cancer that has just passed through. Thema Mundi, the symbolic ‘birth chart’ of the world, has the sign of Cancer as its rising sign. This is a place where the spiritual is entering the physical form, where ideas are being incarnated. It is the mother through which our stories pour through - from the darkness of the birth canal out into the light.  Birth is our first rite of passage where we are at the thresh...

Relativity of Good and Evil

Image
Light and darkness. Good and evil. Order and chaos. The reason I love Hellenistic astrology so much is that it describes life as we know it, both “good and bad”. Prior to finding it, I was desperate to heal, to find an easy solution, an instruction to follow, the way to “wish in the right way” to get what I want, to fix my broken life. In the New Age world, you find abundance of miraculous recipes for enlightened life. That path took me down into a very deep hole - thank you, I had enough.  I believe that it is not helpful to whitewash our experiences. Most often than not, we come to a reading during challenging times and what we need is to be heard and validated. Astrology can do that by acknowledging true nature of our experiences, by providing insight and offering reflection on both uplifting and challenging parts of our chart. Hellenistic astrology often gets a bad rap for using the categories of benefic and malefic planets. But isn’t our life a mixture of good and bad a...

Observing Beautiful Things

Image
When thinking about astrology and the way I see it, I often think of a kaleidoscope. You´ve probably had the pleasure of looking through this magical device as a child. Remember the first time holding it in your hand? Shaking it, hearing a rattling sound, wondering what's that all about, considering whether you should give it a try. Maybe you were skeptical or even a little afraid of what you might see inside but when you peeked into it, you were astonished by the burst of color and elaborate design.  WOW.  Blown away by all that beauty, you kept shaking it, turning it but no matter how many times you did that, the pattern was always unique and so pretty. Same goes for astrology. You look at a certain astrological placement,e. g. planet in a sign, and you keep turning it in your mind - over and over again - and you keep coming up with an endless number of dazzling images that express what this placement can represent in our earthly roam.  The word “kaleidoscope” literally...

No Rebel Sticker for Uranus

Image
Venus is just a couple of degrees away from the conjunction with Uranus. Do you feel the tension rising? I do. The urge to rebel, to break away, to go into opposition, to stand on the other side of what was established, what was defined as a norm, as comfort, as status quo. Some time ago, I´ve heard this eye-opening notion that a rebel is no different than its oppressor than the thing he is rebelling against as they are both standing on the extreme side of reality and neither of them is willing to budge. How true. WOW. It made me think about the rulership of the sign of Aquarius, the airy, masculine home of Saturn, and the hard aspect of opposition being of a Saturnian nature. The Aquarian principle is deeply ingrained in the dogma of its own conviction. Aquarians define themselves by standing against what has been established. They are often standing apart from the crowd that is not commited to their doctrines. In modern astrology, Uranus is said to be the ruling planet of Aquar...

Venus in Taurus

Image
On May 28th, 2022, Venus departed from the fiery temple of Mars and entered her comforting home of Taurus where she stays until June 22, 2022. The sign of Taurus is the earthy home of Venus and a place of the Moon’s exaltation. Venus and Moon, both feminine planets, are symbolizing topics connected to women, relationships, children, fertility, comfort, joy, nourishment, sensual pleasures, and bodily matters. Venus and Moon are also planets of a nocturnal sect, representing things we tend to do when the sun goes down, when our work is done for a day. When we go back home to rest and relax, spend time with our loved ones, go out for a drink with friends or maybe enjoy the crackling of the fire on our own. They are with us at night when we stargaze, make love, or while we're asleep, traveling through our dreamscapes. The nature of these planets naturally tends toward our personal, private sphere of our life, towards what’s close and dear to our heart, what nourishes our roots in our...
